I already have a website. How come I'm not getting any business out of it?

Having a website in today's business climate is essential. However, with millions of websites and billions of web pages, you need to do some marketing for your website to stand out.

Let's start by taking a look at the big picture. Every business has to market itself. The old media traditional methods of yellow pages, newspapers, magazines and direct mail are expensive and yield little results. That doesn't mean that you should skip them altogether. Certain business still rely on them for effective lead generation.

How do I develop a web strategy? A good, comprehensive web strategy consists of the following components:

  • Custom SEO strategy for your site
  • Keywords and Search Engine Submissions
  • Link Partnering
  • Traffic Analysis
  • Search Engine Optimization
  • Ranking and Reporting Analysis
  • Pay-per-click campaign management

Most businesses spend 3-5% of their annual revenues on advertising and marketing. Dividing up the marketing budget takes careful planning and consideration. It is our opinion that the money best spent lies in new media marketing. That simply means the internet.

Why market on the internet? Simply put, the internet has become an ubiquitous part of our daily lives. We check our email, get news, research products and entertain ourselves daily on the web. Likewise, when one of our prospective clients goes on the web to research a product or service that we offer, we want them to find our website. Obviously, most web surfers are using Google, Yahoo or MSN to do most of their searching - approximately 90% of search traffic goes through those search engines.
